Sri Lanka has reached the final of the Women’s Asia Cup. The team beat Pakistan by 3 wickets in the second semi-final at Dambulla today.

The Lankans won the toss and sent Pakistan to bat. The opening pair of Gul Feroza and Muniba Ali scored 61 runs. Gul scored 24 while 37 runs came from Muniba's bat.

Sidrah Amin also departed with 10 runs off 13 balls. In the end Nida Dar and Fatima Sana both made 23 off 17 balls, Alia Riaz scored 16 runs off 15 balls. The capital of the team stands at 140 for 4 wickets.

In response, Sadia Iqbal pushed Sri Lanka in the beginning. Vishmi sent back Gunaratna in the first over. Omaima Sohail trapped Harshita Samarawickrama LBW in the fourth over. After that, Chamari Atapattu built the wall. She added 49 runs with Kavisha Dilhari for the third wicket.

Sadia, who had pushed Sri Lanka at the start, once again took the responsibility of bringing Pakistan back into the match. She took 2 wickets in 3 balls. At first she returned Kavisha, then Nilakshi.

There was no pressure on the Lankans as Chamari was on the other side of Atapattu. But the pressure came when she was sent back by Sadia Iqbal after she scored 63 runs off 48 balls. In the next over, Hasini Perera returned with a run out.

Anushka Sanjeevani and Sugandha Kumari's 15-run partnership then took Lanka out of danger. Sugandha returned at the end. But Sri Lanka had already smelt victory. In the end, the team won by 3 wickets. Thus Sri Lanka moved to the final to meet strong India.

Sri Lanka will play the final of the Women’s Asia Cup next Sunday. In front of them will be India, the most successful team in the competition.

In the end, the dream of playing in the final of the Asia Cup did not come true for the tigresses of Bangladesh. Negara Sultana Jyoti's team had to face a big loss of 10 wickets against India in the semi-final match. Along with this, India made the feat of playing in the final in every tournament.

Even after winning the toss and deciding to bat, the girls of Bangladesh suffered a lot today. Jyoti and gong managed to score only 80 runs at the end of the stipulated over in the face of India's bowling cannon. India's two openers batted fluently to reach the easy target of 81 runs.

Bangladesh blew away Malaysia in their last match in the group stage. The entire team was over confident in this. Tigresses will do well against India that was the expectation of the audience. But the supporters were disappointed.

The quota reform movement has spread heat among students and general public across the country. Apart from the capital Dhaka, protesting students are holding road blockades and protest programs in various educational institutions of the country. Bangladesh national team cricketers Nazmul Shanto, Tawhid Hriday and Shariful Islam opened up about this movement of students.

Shariful and Hridoy are currently in Sri Lanka to play in the Lankan Premier League (LPL). Even though they are outside the country, they responded to the current unstable situation of the country on social media.

Tiger pacer Shariful gave a brief status on his official Facebook. He wrote, 'I am a cricketer but a student. I don't want any more students to bleed.'

Dhaka University student Hriday also wrote on his verified Facebook, “I am away from everything, so I have not seen much. May the Dhaka University of my life not be bloody?

Tiger captain Nazmul Shanto also posted a Facebook status saying, 'I was silent, but I am not blind', which is believed to be a reference to this movement.

On Sunday, Dhaka University area, the quota movement students and Chhatra League leaders and activists chased each other several times throughout the day. Many students were also injured in this untoward incident. After the pictures and videos of the attacked students were spread on the Internet, there was a storm of condemnation.

The students are still continuing their agitation for quota reform in different places of Dhaka city including Science Lab intersection, Gabtali-Mohammadpur Embankment, New Bazaar, Madhyabadda to Bashundhara residential area, Kuril Bishwa road.

The start of the final in Berlin today was a bit of a panacea. Neither team could create any major scoring chances in the first half, nor did they see a goal.
