10 MoUs signed in Sheikh Hasina-Modi meeting

After the bilateral meeting of Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, 10 MoUs including military strategy, rail communication were signed. Out of which 3 agreements have been renewed.

On Saturday (June 22), Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who is visiting India, held a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. These MoUs were signed in a bilateral meeting held at Hyderabad House in Delhi.

The understandings are:

>> Bangladesh-India Digital Partnership.

>> India-Bangladesh Green Partnership.

>> Maritime cooperation and the blue economy.

>> Renewal of old agreements on health and medicine.

>> India's In-Space and Ministry of Posts and Telecommunication MoU.

>> MoU regarding connectivity between the Railway Ministries of the two countries.

>> Agreement between the two countries on ocean research.

>> Renewal of existing agreement between National Disaster Management Authority of India and Bangladesh Ministry of Relief and Disaster Management in disaster management and mitigation.

>> Renewal of existing agreements on fisheries development.

>> MoU between Defense Services Staff College, Wellington-India and Defense Services Command and Staff College, Mirpur on military education cooperation in strategic and operational sectors.

Earlier, Sheikh Hasina visited Rashtrapati Bhavan of India around 9 am local time in Delhi. There she was given a royal welcome and a guard of honor. After that, Sheikh Hasina exchanged pleasantries with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other ministers and officials of the country. At this time, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi also exchanged greetings with the senior officials of Bangladesh present there.

Then Sheikh Hasina paid respects at the mausoleum of Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat in Delhi around 10 am. Then she signed the inspection book there.

This afternoon, Sheikh Hasina will meet Indian Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar at her secretariat. She will meet the President of India Draupadi Murmu at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in the evening. After that, the Prime Minister is scheduled to leave Palam Airport for Dhaka at 6 pm local time. She is expected to land in Dhaka at 9 pm.

The flight carrying the Prime Minister landed at New Delhi's Palam Airport around 4:30 pm on Friday (June 21) on a two-day state visit at the invitation of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. India's Minister of State for External Affairs and Environment Kirti Vardhan Singh welcomed the Prime Minister at the airport.

Earlier, the Prime Minister and her entourage left Dhaka's Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on a Bangladesh Biman flight at 2:08 pm on Friday.
