Former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia was urgently taken to Evercare Hospital in the capital late at night (around 3 am) by ambulance due to her deteriorating physical condition.

This has been confirmed by Begum Khaleda Zia's personal physician Dr. A Z M Zahid Hossain.

Earlier, Khaleda Zia went to Evercare Hospital for a health check-up on May 1. At that time she was admitted to the hospital on the advice of the board engaged in her treatment. A day later, on May 2, she returned home from the hospital after some tests in view of the decision of the medical board.

Earlier, Khaleda Zia was admitted to Evercare Hospital on March 30. The doctors kept her in the CCU of the hospital and checked her health. She returned home at 7:55 pm on April 2 after the necessary health check-up.

It should be noted that Khaleda Zia has been suffering from various diseases including liver cirrhosis, arthritis, diabetes, kidney, lung, heart and eye problems. A 19-member medical board headed by specialist doctor Professor Shahabuddin Talukder is monitoring Khaleda Zia's treatment round the clock.
