Ziaur Rahman introduced the culture of loan defaults in the country: Prime Minister
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has commented that the culture of defaulters in the country has been introduced through Ziaur Rahman.
She said loan default started through Ziaur Rahman later expanded through Ershad, Khaleda Zia. Those who have become proponents of democracy, have they forgotten how they were born? Deprivation of voting rights, lack of democracy started during Zia's tenure.
She said this in the concluding speech of the ongoing second session of the 12th Jatiya Sangsad on Thursday (May 9) evening. Speaker Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury presided over the session.
Stating that she did not leave any opportunity to kill the country's money in government projects, Sheikh Hasina said that she never accepted the offer to come to power by selling the country's wealth. There is also the experience of how terrible a government that comes to power without winning the popular vote is.
Corruption, terrorism and militancy were the image of BNP era. The head of government also claimed that the state of emergency was imposed in the country due to their misrule.
Pointing out that BNP did not go to the polls without knowing that the people would vote, Sheikh Hasina said that no Chief Justice-Journalist was safe from them. The party also has a habit of kicking the door of the Chief Justice's chamber. There is no misdeed that they have not committed. Actually BNP leaders do not look at their own face in the mirror.
