‘Indian media is trying to brand Bangladesh a militant state’
The Indian media is trying to brand Bangladesh a militant state to the world by spreading false propaganda, Foreign Affairs Adviser Md. Touhid Hossain has said.
He said these things at a program organized at the BRAC Center in Mohakhali in the capital on Sunday (December 1) afternoon to mark the 30th anniversary of the Center for Policy Dialogue (CPD).
The Foreign Affairs Adviser said that the Indian media is not happy with the mass uprising in Bangladesh. Therefore, they are spreading false propaganda. They are trying to show Bangladesh as a militant state to the world which is very unfair.
He said that the kind of discussion about Bangladesh that is happening in the Indian media is planned which will not be pleasant for anyone in the two countries.
Md. Touhid Hossain said that no connection has been established between the countries of South Asia in the last 15 years. However, now is the time to create that connection. He also commented that at this time, the CPD can portray the true picture of the country.
He further said, "We had to take charge very soon after the mass uprising. At that time, the police were not working. The students were handling the traffic. Later, the situation gradually came under control."
