Dhaka: Former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's advisor on Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Dr. Taufiq-e-Ilahi Chowdhury has been granted four-day remand. On Wednesday, the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court of Dhaka granted the remand to the Suman Sikder murder case.

Earlier, the police produced him in the court. The police applied for a 10-day remand for proper investigation of the case. However, after the hearing, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Ali Haider granted a four-day remand. Earlier on Tuesday night, Metropolitan Detective (DB) police arrested Dr. Taufiq-e-Ilahi Chowdhury from the Gulshan area of the capital. Suman Sikder was shot dead by the anti-discrimination student movement police on 19th July. In this incident, his mother Masuma became the plaintiff and filed the murder case accusing 179 people including Sheikh Hasina. #
