On Tuesday (September 10) at noon, a crowd of students gathered at the Patia court after hearing that the terrorist had come to take bail. He escaped later but was not saved. Then after the mass washing, his address was in jail.
The name of this terrorist who was the victim of mass laundering in Patia, Chattogram is Md. Rony (35). He is the son of Shafiul Alam Prakash Batam Mistry of Daksinghata area of ward number 6 of Patia municipality.
Locals said that on August 4, students of Patia Al Jamia Madrasa marched in solidarity with the anti-discrimination student movement. Rony openly took arms in front of Patia Palli Vidyut and fired indiscriminately on the marchers. Earlier, during the anti-discrimination student movement on July 18, armed Rony openly attacked the student procession in front of Patia Government College gate and injured some.
Rony was FIR named the accused in the case filed by Shibir leader Enamur Rashid regarding the attack on the student movement. He was also mentioned as the gunman in the case description.
In that case, at 11 o'clock on Tuesday, some Patia people along with Rony applied for bail in the Senior Judicial Magistrate's Court. Later, the court granted bail to 22 people including Rony after the hearing. At that time, after hearing about Rony's presence in the court, the students started moving towards the court. On hearing the news, Rony was on the way to run away from there and was attacked by angry students in the Patia Government College grounds. At that time, he was beaten up by the students. Later Rony was handed over by the students to Patia police.
After that, the students went to the court and started protesting in the lawyer's room. The lawyers then withdrew the bail application. As a result, the bail was canceled by the court. Later Rony was arrested and sent to jail in that case.
Patia Senior Judicial Magistrate Court GRO Forkan Mia said that 22 accused, including Rony, were granted bail in the case of attack on the student movement. Later, the lawyers withdrew the bail plea due to student protests. As a result, their bail has been cancelled.
