Sajib Wazed Joy alleged that the Interim government was allowing "chaotic mob rule". He also feared the creation of a chaotic situation if elections are not held quickly in Bangladesh. At the same time, Sajib Wazed Joy has expressed interest in working with BNP. He also thanked India for saving Sheikh Hasina's life.

Sajib Wazed Joy said this in an interview given to the international news agency AFP. The interview was published on Sunday (August 11).

Referring to the Interim government as 'completely powerless', Sajib Wazed said, 'Mob rule is currently going on in Bangladesh. If the chaotic masses say tomorrow, no, we don't want such and such a person in the Interim government, then they must be changed.'

Sajib Wazed, through these comments, pointed to the removal of the Chief Justice, central bank governor, police chief and top government and state officials in the face of the demands of the agitators.

Sajib Wazed Joy warned that delaying the elections would create risks. Regarding the elections, he said, "It is best for them (interim government) to hold elections...to return (power) to a legitimate government and a real authority." (Quick elections) otherwise there will be complete chaos.

Sajib Wazed said that Awami League is very important in establishing democracy in Bangladesh and said, 'We have millions of supporters. They are not going anywhere (leaving the country). You cannot establish democracy in Bangladesh without the Awami League. It will never be acceptable to at least half of the people of the country. He said, it (election contest) will be between the BNP and Awami League. We need to work together.'

Sajib Wazed Joy also believes that foreign forces have worked behind the agitation and inciting conflict against Sheikh Hasina. However, he could not provide any evidence in support of such a claim. Regarding the hand of foreign forces, Sajib Wazed said, "Only an intelligence agency can smuggle weapons and supply them to the protesters."

Expressing gratitude to the Indian government for providing shelter to Sheikh Hasina, Sajib Wazed said, "I am grateful to the (Indian Prime Minister) Narendra Modi government for saving her (Sheikh Hasina's) life and providing her security."
