Rebel BCL leaders suspend agitation program

Dhaka: Getting assurances from four senior leaders of Awami League the post deprived and rebel Bangladesh Chattra League(BCL) leaders have suspended their agitation movement.

After hours long meeting with the four leaders of Awami League on the following night of Sunday (May19) the agitating BCL leaders withdrew their program.

In the political office of the president of Awami League at Dhanmondi an 8 member rebel students representatives went there to meet the senior leaders of Awami League along with the BCL central committee president and secretary.  

The four senior leaders were joint general secretary of the party Jahangir Kabir Nanak and Abdur Rahman, organizing secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim and BM Mojammel Haque.

The senior leaders assured the BCL leaders that arrangements will be made soon to meet the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the incidents of attacks in Madhur canteen and at TSC on Saturday night will be probed and  proper punishment will be given to the offenders. The controversial leaders will be excluded from the committee and deprived will be accommodated there after proper investigation.

After a lengthy meeting the post deprived BCL leaders along with the president and secretary of the central committee came to Razu sculptor premises. Awami Sechcha Sebak league central committee president Molla Abu Kawsar also accompanied them there.

BCL president Shovon told the agitating leaders that, ‘you must work for the party and country without any greed for posts. Chattra League is not a stagnant organization  rather it is a continuous process.’  He also called upon the party activists to stop mud slinging.

Shovon also told that they had committed some mistakes initally. He said that, ‘the controversial 17 posts are in the process of making vacant. Against whom there allegations of Jamaat Islami link, drug abuse, married, not employed and age not above 30 years will be solved by  our Prime Minister hesalf not by us.’

General secretary Golam Rabbani said that, ’Apa wanted to see us under a single umbrella. She will not talk with the divided groups. She told us to be united first then she will sit with us.   

Rebel leader and the publicity committee secretary of the out going committee Saif Babu told that we are happy after the meeting with the senior leaders. So we are suspending our programs
