A UP member named Rubel Ahmed was shot and killed by miscreants in Narsingdi in the afternoon.
The incident took place at Pakuria Bazar in Amdia Union of Narsingdi around 2 pm on Monday (April 15).
Deceased Rubel Ahmed alias Body Rubel is a member of Ward No. 8 of Amdia Union Parishad. He is the son of Shajahan Mia of Bhuiyam village.
According to the police and locals, Rubel Ahmed, a member of ward No. 8 of Amdia Union Parishad, came to Pakuria market at noon today. After work, he was going home on his motorcycle. At that time, a group of miscreants from a private car fired multiple shots at Rubel. Rubel fell on the ground after being shot. Later the miscreants sat on his body and cut his throat to ensure death and escaped. When the news of the murder spread, hundreds of people gathered at the spot.
Confirming the truth of the incident, SI Fazle Rabbi of Madhabadi police station said that after receiving the information, the body of the UP member was recovered and sent to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital morgue for post-mortem. The police are investigating to unravel the mystery of the murder.
